Technical SEO services: Foundations before
tactics.
Technical SEO services for agencies: there is no point writing content onto a site search engines cannot read, and no point ranking pages that load badly.
Technical audit·Schema·Content plan
The job
Most SEO problems I get called about are not content problems. They are a site that cannot be crawled properly, a migration that dropped its redirects, or a template that buries the thing the page is actually about.
This is the work that has to happen first. It is unglamorous, it is measurable, and it is usually the difference between content marketing working and not.
Technical SEO services: what's included: The whole list, nothing extra.
Every one of these is in the price. If a job needs something that is not here, it is in the written scope before you say yes, not on the invoice after.
Crawl and indexation audit
What search engines can actually reach, what they are ignoring, and why.
Core Web Vitals
Measured on real pages with real content, then fixed at the cause rather than the score.
Structured data
Schema that matches what the page actually is, not bolted on for a rich result that will not appear.
Internal linking and structure
How pages relate, what the hierarchy says, and which pages are orphaned.
Redirect mapping
For replatforms and rebuilds. Every old URL accounted for before launch, not after traffic disappears.
A content plan
What to write, in what order, that your team can realistically keep up with.
What gets crawled
Your site crawled the way a search engine sees it, not the way it looks in a browser: what Google can reach, what it is ignoring, and why.
What gets measured
Core Web Vitals measured on your own pages, with your real content, rather than on a sample page built to score well.
What you get, in order
The findings written down in the order worth doing, so the first thing on the list is the thing that changes most.
The call
A walk through the findings, so you know what each one means before deciding whether any of it is worth paying for.
What gets fixed first
Whatever is stopping pages being found at all comes before anything that improves a page already working. A closed sign beats a slow page.
What happens next
The list is yours either way. Plenty of people take it away and do the work themselves, and it is not a lock-in.
The quick check
Quick check, £400. One day, the whole site crawled, and a written answer to what is reachable, what is ignored and why.
The full audit
Full technical audit, £1,200. For thousands of pages, a shop, or a migration behind you, where a day is not enough to be sure.
Keyword research
The keyword list from £150: the phrases, what they are searched, how hard they are and what the searcher actually wants.
Monthly, and the hours
From £150 a month, with the hours written on the plan, so what you are buying is a number of hours rather than a promise.
What is quoted separately
A migration, a rebuild, or writing the pages themselves. Those are their own jobs with their own prices, not absorbed into a retainer.
No ranking promises
Nobody can promise a position, and anybody who does is selling you the one thing they cannot deliver.
The first month
Setting up and finding out: access to Search Console and analytics, the site crawled and measured, and an ordered list of what is holding it back. The quickest fixes get made that month.
Months two and three
The list, worked through in order, with the hours on the plan. What changed is in the note at the end of each month. Search Console rarely shows much before week six.
What Search Console shows
Impressions before clicks, and clicks before anything that looks like a position. It is the only free record of what Google actually did with your pages.
What takes longest
A new site has no history, so it starts from nothing however good it is. That is the part nobody can shorten by paying more.
What I report
What was looked at, what was changed and how many hours went on it, next to the invoice. The same note the care plans get.
When to stop paying
When the fixes are done and nothing on the list needs an expert, a monthly plan stops being worth it, and I will say so rather than keep invoicing.

This is for you
Technical SEO consultant: is it for you?: Technical SEO is for you
if any of these sound familiar.
- Traffic fell after a launch and nobody knows why
- Replatforming, and rankings must survive
- Content goes out and nothing happens
- Core Web Vitals fail and fixes do not stick
It is not, if
- You want link building
- You want someone to write blog posts every week
- You want a guaranteed position
Not sure which side you are on? Say so on the call. If I am not the right person, you get the name of someone who is.
What technical SEO costs
Below the market median,
without the agency margin.
You should not have to sit through a call to find out whether you can afford me.

Technical SEO questions: Questions I get every time.
The honest answers. If yours is not here, it is the first thing we cover.
Ask me yours01 Do you offer a technical SEO audit service?
Yes. The fixed-price version is on the SEO audit page, which is the right start if you want the findings and the list. This page is for the work itself: the fixing, on a site where somebody has already decided what is wrong.
02 Website speed optimisation?
Yes, and it is usually the largest image on the page rather than anything clever. Core Web Vitals are measured on real pages with real content, so the number is traced back to the cause rather than reported as a score. Where the cause is the platform or the theme, I will say so rather than shave milliseconds around it.
03 What do technical SEO services cover, and what do they not?
A company with one person in it, yes. For a small business that is usually the point: you talk to whoever does the work, and there is no account layer in the price. What I do is the technical half, plus a plan for what to write next.
04 Do you do link building?
No. It is a different discipline and there are people who do it properly. I will happily point you at one.
05 How long before we see results?
Fixes to crawl and indexation problems can show within weeks. Anything competitive takes months. If someone promises you a timeline more precise than that, they are guessing.
06 We are replatforming, when should you get involved?
Before the URL structure is decided, which is usually earlier than people expect. Redirect mapping done during the build costs a fraction of doing it after launch, when traffic has already gone.
07 What access do you need?
Read access to Google Search Console, and analytics if you have it. You add me as a user, so there are no passwords to share.
08 Do you make the fixes, or just find them?
Either. I can make them, or your team can, with a fix list written for a developer to follow.
09 Do you write the content?
I plan it: what to write, in what order, and what each page is for. Writing it is its own job, priced separately if you want me to.
10 Is there a smaller way to start?
Yes, the SEO audit. A fixed price from £400, with your biggest issues in the order to fix them.
Usually goes with: Technical SEO
and website delivery.
Sometimes the audit says the site itself is the problem. When that happens, the person who found it can build the fix, so nothing gets lost between a report and a developer.

Is the site itself
the problem?
Tell me what the numbers are doing. Thirty minutes, no pitch, and you leave knowing whether technical SEO is what you need or whether it is the content.
