Website delivery: A website built
and shipped.
From a blank page or a signed-off design. If there is no design yet, I will make one.

The job
This is the whole job: work out what the site needs to be, build it, fill it, test it, launch it, and leave it somewhere your team can take over.
Most people arriving here have one of two problems. Either there is nothing yet and no developer to start, or there is a design that was signed off months ago and has sat untouched since. Both are the same job from my side.
What a website build includes: The whole list,
nothing extra.
Every one of these is in the price. If a job needs something that is not here, it is in the written scope before you say yes, not on the invoice after.
6things, all in the price
Book a scope call- 01 Sitemap and page structure What pages exist, how they relate, and what each one is for. This is where SEO is won or lost, before a line of code.
- 02 Design, if there is none I will design it: a site that looks considered and does the job. If the brand underneath it needs doing too, that is its own piece of work and it has its own page.
- 03 Build From your design or mine, on a platform that suits the team who will keep it running rather than the one I enjoy most.
- 04 Real content in Your words and pictures loaded and laid out, not lorem ipsum with a note to fill it later. If an existing site is being replaced, moving it across is its own job: see website migration.
- 05 Accessibility and performance Keyboard, focus order, contrast and labels checked, not assumed. Core Web Vitals measured on real pages, then fixed.
- 06 Launch and handover A checklist worked through line by line, then documentation and a walkthrough with whoever picks it up.
How a website build runs: From hello to handover.
Step 1
12 hours max
I reply
Working hours, unless I am on holiday and have said so.
Step 2
Day 0
Scope call
30 minutes. Where it is, what is in the way, whether I am right for it.
Step 3
+2 days
Written scope
What I will do, in what order, what it costs, when it lands.
Step 4
Every week
Something live
A build you can open. Decisions logged as we go.
Step 5
End
Handover
Documented and walked through. You should not need me after it.
This is for you
A website build is for you
if any of these sound familiar.
- You have a site to build and nobody to build it
- A design was signed off months ago
- Replatforming, and the traffic matters
- An agency quoted six months
It is not, if
- You need someone in an office five days a week
- You need content marketing, not building
Not sure which side you are on? Say so on the call. If I am not the right person, you get the name of someone who is.
What a website build costs
Below the market median,
without the agency margin.
You should not have to sit through a call to find out whether you can afford me.
Reading on a website build
Guides, if you would rather read first.
Questions about a website build: Questions I get every time.
The honest answers. If yours is not here, it is the first thing we cover.
Ask me yours01 What platform will you build it on?
Whatever your team can actually maintain. If you have no in-house developer, that usually means WordPress or a hosted platform. If you have engineers, something they already know. I will make a recommendation in the written scope and explain the trade-off.
02 Can you work from a design we already have?
Yes, that is the common case. Figma, XD, a PDF, or a half-finished build, all fine. I will flag anything in the design that will not survive contact with real content before I start.
03 What if we do not have a design?
I will make one. It will be considered and it will suit the content. If what is missing is the brand itself rather than the layout, that is a different job with a different order to it: the identity first, then the site built on it. See brand identity.
04 How long does it take?
A straightforward brochure site is usually a few weeks. Anything with migration, integrations or a lot of content takes longer. You get a real date in the written scope, not a range.
05 We already have a site. Is that this, or is it a migration?
Both, usually. Building the new site is this. Getting the old one across without losing the traffic it already has is website migration, which has a page of its own because it is a real piece of work: every old URL mapped to a new one before launch, then checked against the live site afterwards.
06 How is it priced?
As a fixed price where the job can be pinned down, or by the day at £400 where it cannot. Either way, the written scope and the price arrive within 2 working days of the call.
07 How do we pay?
One of two ways, and the written scope says which. A build is a deposit, paid by card when you agree the scope, which starts the work, then the balance when it is finished, or monthly by Direct Debit where the price allows. Other work is paid as each stage is accepted. No VAT is charged.
08 Will we see it before launch?
Every week. There is a build you can open and click around, and the portal shows what is done, what is next and anything waiting on you.
09 What happens after launch?
You get the logins and a written guide to the everyday changes. Looking after it is optional: care starts at £300 a month, or it is yours to run.
Usually goes with: Website delivery
and technical SEO.
A new site is the cheapest moment to get search right. The redirects, the structure and the schema go in while it is being built, instead of being found missing after launch.
